State Farm files lawsuit against windshield business over alleged fraud

State Farm has filed a $1.4 million lawsuit against a Sarasota, Florida auto glass company over what it claims are fraudulent insurance claims.

The violations which State Farm are alleging include; not giving written estimates and invoices, inproper subcontracting, obtaining its business license under false pretences and charging inflated rates for repairs and work.

Although State Farm has not commented on the case, a lawyer for the business being sued has stated that they have been basing their prices on the National Auto Glass Specifications catalogue.
