Hyundai admits to being in partnership discussions with Apple

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Hyundai is in early discussions with Apple in a potential partnership, however the extent is unknown.

The discussions revolve around self-driving and electric vehicle cooperations, according to the Korean auto manufacturers. The discussion are at early phase, but surrounding rumors have resulted in significant stock market gains.

Seoul, Korea – Corporate headquarters to Hyundai and Kia Motors

Various rumors have centered around a potential 2024 launch of an Apple based vehicle, but details limited as to how Apple would address the market (manufacturing, car sharing subscription or other). As Tesla’s market value surpasses $700 billion, the opportunity exist to continue to re-invent not only vehicles but vehicle ownership models as well.
