GM expands it’s OnStar solution beyond GM vehicles in US and Canada

GM has announced that it has expanded availability of the OnStar Guardian to all drivers across the US and Canada.

OnStar has begun offering it’s OnStar Guardian App to any interested driver within the US and Canada, delivering safety and connectivity

GM launched the mobile based telematics solution in June 2020 but only made it available to GM owners. As of this week GM has made the platform available to entry driver with an iPhone or Android smartphone. The solution will provide drivers, and their families, safety and security through crash detection, roadside assistance, OnStar Advisor access, location status and sharing, and more.

Interested drivers can download the app and try free for 30 days. After the trial the cost is $15 a month, which can be shared with 7 “loved ones” at no additional charge.

Of note, for every download during the month of June, GM will donate $1 to the Alzheimer’s Association.
