Following on the successful launch of the F-150 Lighting all electric pickup truck, Ford announces further electric trucks, increased EV investment, and the launch of the Ford Pro commercial vehicle division.
Ford announced that they are working on an all-electric versions of its Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs. This follows 70,000 deposits for the Lightning announced last week. Ford will invest $30 billion in the next 4 years on developing EVs and aims to have 40% of it’s global fleet be electric by 2030.
Key to that success is their commercial business, a market a dominate with a 43% market share. To that end, they are launching a new commercial customer division titled Ford Pro. This group will focus on delivering further value to fleet customers and dedicated service.
A previously announced business focused offering is their connected vehicle platform. Able to deliver fleet management, driver coaching, fuel savings and more.
